Vegas’ new “luxury doll” comes with modernity and audacity in every detail of its design. This is how we can introduce one of Nevada’s newest hotels, the SLS, which opened on August 23, 2014, at the northern end of the Strip.
Proposing a “clean” decor, different from other hotel ideas, the rooms feature low lighting, modern paintings and sculptures in the lobbies and colors in cooler tones, mixed with grey, black, nude, and pink.
Eschewing the obvious, the 415,000-dollar project implemented a new concept of thinking about a casino hotel for the region, leaving aside the “over” in the decoration and bringing in digital effects in the finishes and dictatorial fashion panels. This idea is prevalent throughout the hotel, including the 7,900 square meter casino, which houses slot machines, gaming tables and high-stakes rooms.
Get to know
For those who don’t remember, the address is the same as the now-defunct Sahara Hotel, which operated under that name for 59 years. Known not only for being the sixth resort to open on the Strip, its main memory is for having been the stage for countless celebrities to present their shows.
If you think there have been so few artists there, just look at some of the names: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Liza Minnelli, Eleanor Powell, The Platters, Bill Cosby, Jeanette MacDonald, Ann-Margret, Don Rickles and Jerry Lewis.
And know that this is only the beginning of the list! Also making an appearance there, but only as guests, were the members of the unforgettable The Beatles, who briefly visited the city for a concert. Do you need to say anything else? This place has plenty of good energy.
Accommodation
The “boutique style” takes shape and size in the suites of this hotel. With a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, the 1,600 rooms, divided into three towers, offer the finest in current design standards. From the simplest to the largest options, every space is carefully thought out, from the colors, predominantly white, pink, yellow and black, to the details that make up the decoration, all delicate and mostly in light tones.
The difference is the artwork by French designer Philippe Starck (who has had a partnership with the SLS hotel chain since 2000). In light and contemporary proposals, the rooms play with fun prints, lots of creativity, mirrors on the ceiling, Peekaboo bathrooms and curtains illustrated with the funniest prints.
Leisure
Pool
The aquatic center has an almost all-white environment and offers two options. During the day to soak up the sun and cool off, and at night to enjoy the excitement of an unforgettable evening party experience. Always looking for sophistication in its events, the atmosphere at Foxtail Pool Club promises a party worthy of what you’re looking for in Vegas.
During the day, those who choose to sunbathe will find a cabana service, dining chairs, mats and a bar specializing in cocktails.
Fitness
For those who never miss a day of training, the fitness center is equipped to make your workouts even more effective. If you’d still like to book a private session with a fitness trainer, feel free to do so. Various times can be scheduled for a private session that’s totally customized to your goals.
Available: Cardio machines with plasma TV options or music selection, free weights, yoga mats, Pilates balls and headphones.
Care
Completing the agenda, the hotel has a complete spa area. Located on the second floor of the Lux tower, therapeutic treatments will ensure that your time in this corner is even more relaxing. And it doesn’t stop there: steam rooms with herbs, massage beds and large showers will take all the stress out of your last days. Among the 10 treatment rooms, reserve space, if you wish, for a couple’s session so that your zen moment can be shared as a couple.
The beauty salon, which is on the third floor, offers a luxurious atmosphere and features a menu of exclusive dedicated services so that you get the service you’re looking for. From haircuts and coloring to professional make-up, you’ll find the latest in the field of aesthetics.
