Located inside the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, a CBS Television City Research Center gives visitors the opportunity to take part in decision-making within a television network. There you can classify pilot programs (which are ideas for new programs) and other shows that are waiting to be aired.
Five minutes before the screening, viewers should head to one of the six studios to see the latest offers from CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, Viacom and other networks. This is followed by a brief instruction on how to use the tabloids and test monitors to record your opinions.
After watching the program you have to answer a survey, the length of which varies according to the program watched. The whole process usually takes around 45 to 60 minutes.
The attraction also offers tests for commercials, websites and technology-based products. Products such as the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, Apple iPhone, and Dell notebooks have already been tested there.
A CBS Television City Research Center also encourages those who have helped by offering chances to win prizes, such as a home theater valued at more than US$9,000.
