The eruption of the casino hotel’s giant volcano The Mirage Las Vegas is one of the most popular attractions in Strip.
The show lasts about 4 minutes and shows the volcano spitting fire and spilling lava in daily shows since its inauguration in 1989. In 2008 the volcano was remodeled and given new light, water and sound effects, which made it even more real!
Developed by WET, the same company responsible for The Fountains of Bellagio, The Mirage Volcano is made up of two volcanic systems, a lagoon, and fire throwers that shoot flames up to 3.6 meters high. It also has waterfalls with pools that also have fire and smoke effects.
One of the highlights of this attraction is its hypnotic soundtrack. Hart, drummer for Grateful Dead, and the Indian composer Zakir Hussain worked together to create and perform an exclusive soundtrack for the volcano. During the composition process, the two studied legends, myths and history about volcanoes; As a result, they incorporated instruments from all over the world. The musical masterpiece infuses chants, percussion and other tribal elements.
In addition to the intense soundtrack, the audience can hear and feel the rumble of the volcano. To do this, the attraction has a sound system that allows you to really feel the bang.
The best view of the volcano’s eruption is right in front of the casino The Mirage, na Strip. Only those who are there can feel the heat of the flames, the tremor of the crash and even hear the exclusive soundtrack.
