“The Fall of Atlantis” is a free show that shows how sibling rivalry led to the downfall of Atlantis, the famous city from mythology.
The show takes place in a fountain made up of animated statues that throw fire and water during the plot.
The story begins when King Atlas is trying to decide which of his two sons should rule Atlantis. Greed and the desire for power cause the brothers to fight in order to destroy each other.
Atlas’ daughter uses her power with water, while his son uses his power with fire. When the gods learned of this quarrel, they showed their anger and decided to intercede, deciding to bring about the fall of Atlantis. Then a terrible beast with wings appears from behind Atlas’ throne and watches Atlantis being destroyed by fires and floods.
Before or after the show, take the opportunity to see the aquarium with 50,000 liters of salt water behind the fountain where the show takes place. The aquarium has more than 300 fish, including rays, flounders, puffer fish and other tropical fish that are not common here.
Divers can also be seen feeding the fish at 1.15 pm and 5.15 pm. If you wish, you can also take a guided tour behind the scenes of the aquarium, from Monday to Friday at 3.15pm.
