What were only characters in children’s stories or fictional movies can be found every day in Las Vegas. The mermaids at Silverton Casino give performances that delight children, offering yet another different activity in this city of entertainment.
If someone tells you they saw a mermaid in Las Vegas, it might be true! In the aquarium of the Silverton Hotel Casino there is an aquarium with 117,000 liters of water and more than 4,000 tropical fish, including sharks, rays and even beautiful mermaids.
The aquarium is free and open to the public 24 hours a day. The mermaids, who are professional synchronized swimmers, perform from Thursday to Sunday at times ranging from 11.30am to 9.45pm. (See timetables here)
While underwater, the ‘mermaids’ use oxygen hoses to keep your breath and entertain the audience. Sometimes they swim up to the surface of the aquarium to get fresh air and continue their movements, which convey lightness and joy as if in a dance.
Each presentation lasts between 10 and 15 minutes.
Tip: In addition to the women dressed as mermaids, check out the divers feeding the fish, rays and sharks.
