Big Bear Lake: the ski resort near Vegas!

Located in Southern California, Big Bear is one of the most popular destinations for Vegas visitors for two reasons: its proximity (3.5 hours from the Strip) and its abundant entertainment options for the whole family. With its “village” atmosphere, the place is a real alternative for any month of the year, offering a wide range of activities at all times of the year.

The proof that the tour will be packed with activities begins with the spaces on offer. Two distinct winter resorts, each with its own attributes, are offered to tourists, the advantage being that the “pass” entitles you to a single elevator ticket that takes you to both Snow Summit and Bear Mountain.

Ok! But if there are two different sides, what changes? Each offers a variety of slopes for skiers and snowboarders, with more than 55 runs in all.
In terms of style, the change is more noticeable: Snow Summit has been in existence for over 40 years and offers a traditional alpine atmosphere, while Bear Mountain is a little newer and has a more modern vibe, attracting mostly younger skiers and snowboarders.

The two venues, which are just two kilometers apart, are connected by an inter-resort with free transportation at all times, ensuring that your enjoyment is constant and unforgettable!

Get ready! Because if this is your vacation choice, you’ll have a lot of activities ahead of you, so to discover some of them, we’ve briefly listed some of the main attractions, okay? Check them out and choose the ones that are right for you!

Apart from skiing, there is a whole universe of other things to do, such as hiking. Yes, this is an incredible opportunity to meet animals such as deer, squirrels, rabbits, foxes and lizards, as well as enjoy paradisiacal landscapes in the mountains. And rest assured, there are several levels of difficulty of the trails, so you’ll find the right one for you regardless of your physical condition.

Skiing or Snowboarding

Practice your skills on the park’s tracks with different levels of difficulty. If you don’t have the right equipment, the place offers you the chance to buy or rent the right clothing.

Horseback riding

Horseback riding in this region can be an excellent way to get to know this incredible National Forest. The nice thing about this is that everyone can experience it, including children, who can enjoy a pleasant pony ride.

Zip line

This is one of the most fun attractions for those who enjoy adventurous moments. Providing an adrenaline rush in a short distance, enjoy the beauty of the forest with the beautiful mountains as a backdrop with a privileged view from above. And you should know that you can do the tour at any time of the year, even during snowy periods.

In summer

There are various activities that can be done in both the colder and warmer seasons. However, in summer the park becomes a sensation for various types of tourism, among them, the sight of the stars and the possibility of exploring a voluminous constellation is one of the main activities for those who like to appreciate natural beauty, and the best part, it’s free!

Another alternative that is very popular with tourists is Big Bear Lake, a lake that is extremely popular with amateur and professional fishermen due to the abundance of fish, especially catfish. All you need to do is get a fishing license, equipment, bait and enjoy your day!

Alpine Zoo Big Bear

This is a kind of hospital for animals, but with a very important difference: it’s a “pet-friendly” place, because it’s actually a large rehabilitation clinic for injured animals, orphans or any other type of limitation. This center exists precisely because, due to their “medical condition”, they are unable to survive on their own in the wild.

Visitors can see a wide variety of Alpine species, such as eagles, wolves, black bears, lynxes and even an Arctic fox! It’s undoubtedly a great opportunity to program with children, precisely because of its educational appeal.

Baldwin Lake Stables

If you want to get up close and personal with the animals and be able to feed them, at this zoo everyone can get up close and personal with the “friendly animals” and learn even more about the native species. The coolest thing? You only pay for the food to feed the animals!

Enjoying as many relaxing moments as possible on your vacation makes all the difference when you return home with renewed energy, right? With this well-being in mind, Big Bear has massage services in its own suite.

If you want more delights from this sector, take advantage of a “day spa” and have a facial or foot reflexology, as well as body wraps or aromatherapy.

If, in addition to passive treatments, you want to practice some relaxation techniques for your body, the resort offers yoga, Reiki or Jin Shin Jyutsu sessions.

Thinking about every detail of this special moment, healthy diet restaurants with vegetarian and organic menus can also be enjoyed on site.

If you want to extend your stay, why not spend a weekend in the village? If this idea has crossed your mind, know that there are different options for making it happen. Check it out: https://www.vegasbrazil.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/BannerVB0155.jpg” style=”width: 640px; height: 311px;” />
